Pilgrim Health and Vaccination Guidelines

To ensure the health of pilgrims and prevent the spread of infectious diseases, Saudi authorities and the Pakistan Ministry of Health have established mandatory and recommended vaccination protocols for those traveling from Pakistan.

Mandatory Vaccination

  • Meningococcal Vaccine: All travelers are advised to receive a dose of the quadrivalent (ACWY) vaccine at least 10 days before departure. This protects against the four primary strains of Neisseria meningitidis.

Recommended Vaccinations

For optimal safety during the pilgrimage and to protect the wider community, the following immunizations are also strongly encouraged:

  • Pneumococcal
  • Seasonal Influenza (Flu)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella)
  • DTaP (Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Pertussis)
